Mick took on the new role of Executive Manager in February 2007 following HEP’s restructure, having been recruited in 2003 as the then Humber Forum’s Operations Manager. He works closely with the independent Chair of HEP and is accountable to and provides advice and support to the HEP Board of Directors. Mick is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the HEP Strategic Plan and it's contribution to the City Region Development Programme (CRDP) by leading and managing the HEP Executive Team; co-ordinating the multi-partner ‘HEP Strategy Team’; providing policy, partnership and secretariat support to the City Region Thematic Boards for Planning, Transport and Employment, Enterprise and Skills, and policy support to the Housing Board; representing the City Region and HEP on relevant national, regional and city regional partnership and management groups and boards, ensuring that the City Region and HEP plays a full part in relevant national and regional affairs.

Mick’s move to HEP followed eight years in various economic development management roles in Lincolnshire and the East Midlands and this followed 11 years in civil engineering in both Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.

Kate was recruited in March 2001, at the launch of the company, and is responsible for leading HEP’s communications strategy, PR and website contracts. Kate manages HEP’s Membership arrangements, and is responsible for Members’ communications and events. Kate also has responsibility for office management and HR matters.

Rachel was recruited in March 2001, at the launch of the company, and her role has evolved so that she now manages and maintains all aspects of the company’s finances. Rachel also provides executive support to the Corporate Services Manager and is jointly responsible for maintaining and equipping a suitable environment for the Executive team.

Ben was recruited in 2001, at the launch of the company, to work on HEP’s policy, research and intelligence function, which he now leads, to assist HEP and its partners on issues relating to the sustainable development of the Hull and Humber Ports City Region’s economy. Ben also leads the development of the Employment, Enterprise and Skills thematic Board and the coordination of the Multi Area Agreement. He represents HEP as appropriate on regional, sub-regional and local boards and partnerships, and manages the Yorkshire Futures contract for the production of Progress in The Humber reports.

Clare is currently on a one-year secondment to Communities and Local Government (CLG), London, working on the development and implementation of Multi Area Agreements and the new city-region pilots.

Clare was recruited in 2005 as a Policy and Research Analyst and in 2008 became Operations Officer being responsible for the development and implementation of key areas of HEP’s operations regarding policy and strategy. This includes providing policy and secretariat support to the City Region Thematic Boards; assisting and advising on City Region economic development initiatives such as the Multi Area Agreement (MAA); and working with partners to develop an Integrated City Region Strategy (ICRS).

Dominic was recruited in 2008 to analyse policies and intelligence to assist HEP on issues relating to the sustainable development of the Hull and Humber Ports City Region’s economy. This includes influences on the performance of the City Regional economy and the impacts of policies, initiatives and projects. Key accountabilities include to assist with the preparation and publication of ‘Progress in the Humber’, and relevant research and analysis to aid with the production and dissemination of a suite reports including the ‘Market Intelligence Bulletin’, ‘Humber Intelligence’ and the ‘Economic Bulletin’.
