PRESS RELEASE: Branding Works in Employment, Enterprise and Skills
The Hull and Humber Ports City Region Employment, Enterprise and Skills Board has launched a project, called Branding Works, designed to engage young people in the development of a new brand for the Board.

The Hull and Humber Ports City Region Employment, Enterprise and Skills Board has launched a project, called Branding Works, designed to engage young people in the development of a new brand for the Board.
Recognising that the name of the Board is not something that ‘rolls off the tongue’, Chair, Captain Richard Brough, also managing director of Jenkins Shipping Port Services, has launched a competition for Diploma students from across the city region to encourage them to enter and submit ideas on branding issues such as a new logo for the Board.
Richard said, “The Board is very influential and respected by existing organisations across the Humber, however it is essential to engage with the future workforce in the area. By giving young people the opportunity to chose and develop the Board’s brand, we are doing just that.”
Branding Works project facilitators, Humber Education Business Partnership (EBP), have developed a project brief that matches guidelines within Diploma coursework, such as the new Creative & Media Studies Diploma. Anne Shaw, responsible for Labour Market Information at EBP, said: “All entries support Diploma coursework. Project information packs have been sent to all secondary schools, academies, further education colleges and sixth form colleges across the Humber. We are hopeful that students will grasp this great opportunity to work with us in the development of a new brand for the Hull and Humber Ports City Region Employment, Enterprise and Skills Board.”
The winning team will be notified in March 2010, and will be commissioned in April. Working alongside Humber Economic Partnership, specialists in the field of branding will be drafted in to support and mentor the students.
